Development of the methodology for nuclear fuel inspections continues within the CORD project

In the frame of the R4S (Research for SUSEN) project a new methodology for assessment of the geometry of fuel assemblies used at nuclear power plants was developed in CVŘ last year. A team performing nuclear fuel inspections designed an experimental device which allows testing various sensors or visual systems and verifying theoretical assumptions in practice. The experimental device cannot simulate full-scale conditions as at power plants, but it is sufficient to verify the correctness of proposed methodologies.
The development of the methodology continues this year within the CORD project (Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, Programme GAMA); a next step is to verify the methodology in real conditions at Temelín NPP during regular fuel inspections.
